About Next Era Safety

Transforming the HSW mindset in New Zealand through contemporary, proactive, and collaborative approaches.

Our Story

Next Era Safety (ProductiveSafety Ltd) was founded on a simple yet powerful belief: traditional health and safety approaches are no longer sufficient for today's complex, dynamic work environments.

The company was co-founded by three passionate HSW professionals — Diane Ah-Chan, Jo Zoricich, and Jasmine Booth — who shared a vision to transform safety culture in New Zealand. Together, they built the foundations of Next Era Safety's contemporary, proactive approach to health and safety.

Today, Diane continues to lead Next Era Safety, bringing deep expertise in industrial and organizational psychology to drive the company's mission forward. Our approach remains rooted in the original founding vision: to challenge conventional thinking and create enablement cultures that use systems thinking, participatory approaches, and contemporary methodologies.

We saw organizations stuck in compliance-focused, reactive safety cultures that failed to recognize the positive impact work can have on people's lives. We knew there was a better way. Our mission is to transform the HSW mindset in New Zealand by supporting organizations in creating environments where BetterWork is the foundation of performance.

As one of our guiding quotes reminds us: "Without changing our patterns of thought, we will not be able to solve the problems we created with our current patterns of thought." - Einstein
